Where has the summer gone?! I wanted to have this post up much sooner, but, life got really busy and before I knew it …. Fall fell.
Sunny skies was the forecast for the awesome week I got to spend working in the kitchen at Camp Crossroads at the end of August. I will admit … I had NO IDEA what I was getting myself into when I volunteered. You certainly can’t be a slacker in that kitchen, but Rita and Gord and everyone else there made the work fun. And seeing the smiles on the faces of the families we were feeding made it more than worth it.
Camp Crossroads is a beautiful place in Muskoka, Ontario. It was built out of love for kids by all of the Mennonite Brethren churches in Ontario and connects us all still. Hopefully, it will continue for generations to come.
Beginning on Monday afternoon, families arrived and explored all that camp has to offer. Throughout the week they made new friends, reconnected with old friends and enjoyed each other’s company as they played and worshipped and ate together.
Saturday morning I was privileged to witness the baptism of an amazing young man I have watched grow in stature and character. I was truly honoured that he asked me to stay to share that morning with him and his family and it certainly was a perfect way to complete a week I will never forget.
And then just like that … it was time to leave for home!
Here are a few pictures from that week of the families enjoying the food, waterfront, chapels and many other wonderful activities available at our camp.
(If you were a Family Camp 4 attendee, Camp will be sending out a link for ALL the pictures from that week)
Enjoy!

Thanks to Camp Crossroads and all the AMAZING families at Family Camp 4 for letting me capture some of your moments. And thanks to Rita, Gord R., Nancy, Pat, Irmgard, Gord H., Justin, Josh and Grant for being such an amazing team all week!
